The Phil-osophy of Beer

Porters

Also a darker ale. First brewed in and around London for the baggage carriers ( porters ). Tend to be more bitter than a Stout.

Denotes one of the original 30 Beers

Crooked River Robust Porter

I think they are overstating the robust a bit. It is a good porter with a strong porter flavor but robust is a bit of a stretch.

DuClaw Brewing Co. Bad Moon Porter

Just a good run of the mill porter with the expected aftertaste of coffee

DuClaw Brewing Co. Celtic Fury Porter- nitro

Much smoother taste than a regular porter probably due to the Nitro pour. Great flavor with a very dry finish

Entire Butt English Porter

The entire butt has nothing to do with anatomy. It is the long lost term for the 14 different hops and 3 malts that make up the most complicated tasting beer I think I have come across. Great blend of flavors, every sip has a different taste.

Flying Dog Road Dog Scottish Porter

Very interesting blend of flavors. I really like the hint of chocolate in mix. If you want to read about a triumph of free speech check out the article on the controversy over the original "Good Beer, No Shit" slogan on the label.

Great Divide  St. Brigid's Porter

Smooth and full bodied, maybe a bit too much "coffee" flavor.

Great Lakes Brewing Co.  Edmund Fitzgerald Porter

I really Have no idea what prompted to name a beer after a really bad song....... This is one of those really good porters that is not too hoppy and not over the top with the coffee flavor. just a nice balance.

Okocim Porter

Great Porter from Poland. This has a chocolate malt type of flavor. Great taste.

Original Flag Porter

This Wonderful Porter is brewed for a recipe from 1850, with yeast salvaged from a shipwreck dating back to the 1800's. They were able to grow more yeast and came up with this amazing Porter.

Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter

Great Full Flavored Porter. Not overbearing or heavy, good blend of hops. Very sweet finish.

Portland Brewing Haystack Black

Good, kind of sweet porter, just a bit hoppy for my taste.

Rogue Mocha Porter

Great tasting Porter with a surprisingly smooth finish. Didn't really get the Mocha part. Maybe just a little chocolate flavor.

Salopian Brewing Entire Butt Porter

Well blended Porter, strong finish. The "Entire Butt" is a English brewing term that means the whole barrel. Or as we would say " everything including the kitchen sink"  I guess they are referring to the 14 different malts and 3  different hops used to make this porter.

Sierra Nevada Porter

Really good Porter with a great flavor, a bit malty but not over bearing and not too heavy.

Stoney Creek Original Vanilla Porter

Really like this one. Very Smooth and sweet, nice chocolaty taste. Anyone who like porters has to try this stuff. I really have to thank my sister for hooking me up with this stuff. Thanks Biz !!!

Total Disorder Porter, Ram Brewery Indianapolis.

Very smooth, not too sweet. Great Porter
