Review: Maibock Hofbrau
We spent an entire evening sampling and studying this beer. Now I wish I could remember what we decided. But Seriously....
I really like this beer. It has the whole hop / malt flavor blend down pat. Very smooth finish, no bitterness or after taste. HOWEVER, I would seriously recommend monitoring your intake on this one. Rumor has it that it is up around 14% ABV. We suspect it is closer to 9% ABV, but still plenty high enough to cause problems.

Review: Bluegrass Brewing Co. Nut Brown Ale
Good smooth taste but a little watery, less of a malt flavor than I would have expected. Not much to taste in the finish

Review: Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA
This is a very traditional IPA with a very strong hop flavor. Not my personal favorite, but I lean to a more balanced flavor.

Not as rich and sweet at the previous Double Cream Stout. Great finish, smooth & sweet.
Review: North Coast Brewing Old No. 38 Stout
Another multiple award winning stout. Strong but not overbearing coffee taste. Not an "in your face" kind of stout.

Review: Abita Amber
I was introduced to Abita beer while in New Orleans a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. The Amber is a great tasting ale good for those who have a preference for lighter American beer.

Really excellent pale ale, pretty aggressive hop flavor, but it pays off in the end.

Review: Great Lakes Brewing Co. Elliott Ness
Apparently one of the relatives of the Great Lakes family worked for Elliott Ness. So that prompted them to name this fine lager after him. I also sense the irony of naming a beer after the patron saint of Prohibition

This is an Oatmeal Stout and I usually like them but this didn't do much for me. Not as rich as I would expect.

Review: Samuel Adams Cream Stout
Great flavored Stout. Really good blend of malts, it takes Stout in a different direction of taste without losing the traditional stout characteristics. Not too sweet or creamy.

Review; Shiner 96 Marzen Style Ale
Another good drinkable beer from Shiner. Nice flavor, good finish with little aftertaste. Like Shiner Bock it just doesn't quite seem to hit the mark. It is not quite up to the level of a good Marzen or Oktoberfest.

Review: Young's Waggledance Honey Ale
So I had to look it up. A Waggledance is the strange dance bees perform to let other bees know there is a good source of nectar. Beyond that there isn't much to say here. Young's has produced a nice bitter style ale here but the whole honey thing is lost in the mix and actually detracts from the overall flavor. My longtime favorite Dundee's Honey Brown is a better choice for honey brewed beers.

Belgian Style Ale with a very spicy flavor. Very different type of taste. For flavor they add Black Pepper, Orange Peel and Coriander for that spicy finish.

Review: Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss
I have had this beer now on a number of occasions and liked it every time. Sweet, but not enough to set your teeth on edge like some Honey beers. It actually more of a malty flavor than a wheat flavor.
